In 2012, Sunrise Bakery opened its doors in Portland with a simple promise: bake with care, use quality ingredients, and treat every customer like a neighbor. What started as a family passion for handcrafted bread and celebration cakes has grown into a neighborhood staple—not because we chased trends, but because we showed up every day and made things worth coming back for.

The bakery's name wasn't arbitrary. Those early mornings, before dawn, when the ovens came alive and the sourdough starter began its day—that's when the real work happened. Fermentation takes time. Flavor develops slowly. Custom cakes require listening to what a customer needs, not just what we can sell. We learned quickly that shortcuts don't build trust, and trust is what keeps a family business alive in a city full of choices.
